LYL Overnight Prayer Meeting

While most people were fast asleep, some 130 dedicated youths from Lee Yi Lun’s zone gathered together for a six-hour overnight prayer meeting at The Riverwalk on the 29 July.

The fervency and dedication of the youths was obvious – many of them had a full schedule the next day but the Auditorium was packed with youths crying out for breakthroughs in their lives.

The prayer meeting was separated into three different sessions, each with a unique focus. During the second session, Yi Lun encouraged the youths to build their own altar before God, and that despite some discouraging experiences in our lives, one’s life and ministry should never revolve around somebody.

22-year-old James Zhuang shared that he was most impacted by the second session.

“The presence was even stronger when we started to pray through our own altar, the atmosphere was uplifted by everybody. The prayer meeting really showed the total commitment and love we have for Jesus,” he said.

Chong Seow Li also felt that the overnight prayer meeting helped her to focus on God once again. She was encouraged by seeing a huge group of youths praying passionately in unity.

“As the LYL members gathered together to pray for breakthrough, I felt that we were so united in the body of Christ. As Yi Lun shared about building our own altar, it brought us back to focus on building it wholly on God. Though physically tired, we were not spiritually tired. In fact we were still praising God energetically, worshipping Him in one spirit and praying so fervently for an open heaven. Breakthrough is indeed coming!” said the 21-year-old.

As the prayer meeting came to an end, many youths were surprised at how time passed so quickly and they were looking forward to the next meeting which will be held in November.
